What is the difference between LVP, engineered wood, and solid hardwood?
Rigid-core LVP is a layered resilient product with a printed wood visual. Engineered hardwood has a real wood wear layer over a multi-layer core. Solid hardwood is wood through the thickness. Installation options and room suitability vary by product.
Can flooring run continuously through a kitchen and living room?
It can when the product, installation system, expansion plan, room dimensions, cabinets, transitions, and site conditions allow it. The exact manufacturer instructions control.
Which plank direction makes a room look larger?
There is no universal answer. Running with the longest sightline often feels calm and continuous, while running across can emphasize width. Doorways, adjacent rooms, light, structure, and product rules also matter.
Do wider planks always look more luxurious?
Wider planks can create a quieter field with fewer seams, but the room scale, product availability, wood movement, subfloor, and installation method still determine whether they are appropriate.
Does every LVP product require no acclimation?
No. Some current rigid-core collections advertise no-acclimation installation, while other products and hardwood floors have different site-condition or acclimation requirements. Follow the exact product instructions.
Can hardwood be installed below grade?
Some engineered hardwood products are approved above, on, and below grade with specific installation methods. Many solid hardwood products are limited to on- or above-grade nail-down installation. Confirm the exact product and moisture system.

Screen color, grain scale, sheen, texture, shade variation, and edge detail are approximate. Review the current sample and product specifications in the room’s actual lighting before ordering.
